For the past month everytime I use my remote or the door lock/unlock buttons in my car...the door behind the passenger seat is not unlocking. It has to be manually locked and unlocked. Does anyone have an idea as to how much this might cost to get it fixed? Thank you!
I have a 2004 Acura TSX|||Not sure on the cost for that car, but the part is called an actuator, its a little motor that pushes the lock up and down. You may just want to call the dealer and ask. It should just be something like an hour of labor and a $50 part.|||Check with the acura dealer first (just as a joke) - once you pick yourself back up off the floor, then ask friends/family if they recommend anyone reliable.
Get a quote for doing it, and if it seems pricey, get another quote.
Sometimes taking apart the interior of a car to get to wiring, etc. is a little trickier than it sounds (they love to hide all of the screws/fasteners for aestethetic reasons), and getting one back together exactly to original is even trickier.
My first best guess would be $350-400. Good luck finding something cheaper.|||a lot if it still works with the key then use the key but all new cars have laser cut keys-bout 125.00 give or take and i dunno how much the remote is but its obviously something electrical and that means money so i say its more money than its worth to fix bcuz u may need to get a new lock for the door. regardless its gonna be expensive so just be slightly less lazy n use ur key.
