Can a 2005 Acura TSX beat a 2008 Ford Mustang V6 in a 1/4 mile?

I know its a stupid question, but my brother tells me his automatic mustang can beat beat my stick shift acura. he keeps bugging me to race him in the back roads but that would be the stupidest thing i could do. So can anyone just tell me?|||I'd say so because the V6 Mustangs only got the same engine as a Ford Explorer and Ford Ranger which is a 4.0L V6. Yeah, doesn't sound so bad anymore. Now if it was a GT or a Cobra, that's a whole different story.|||No. mustang will win|||dragtimes.com estimates both cars 1/4 mile time around 15.3 sec, so it is probably pretty close to a straight up race, and may depend on which driver is better on reaction time.

Other than that, it is best if you choose not to do any big all-out Street Racing, it may look cool in Fast and Furious movies, but it can get really expensive on your insurance if you get tickets, especially if you get "Exhibition of Speed" and reckless endangerment stuff, you would be paying $5K+ per year on insurance or even have your license suspended. It is better if you can find a local drag-strip and measure the difference on the track.|||it would be very close for sure i bet that acura tho|||I think the Acura would win but just in case install some nitrous on your car then go race your brother at a local drag strip.|||I think that the drag race would be very close. However, the Acura would leave the Mustang behind in any circuit. American suspension sucks, I'd much rather have your car regardless of how it performed in the drag.

Good Luck!|||The Acura should win easily.

It is lighter, smaller, more aerodynamic, and has about the same power.

Plus, the TSX revs higher.

1/4 mile for the automatic Mustang is just over 16 seconds.

1/4 mile for the manual TSX should be 15.3 seconds, if you shift fast enough and at the right times. Near Redline.
