Am I to only put Honda oil in my Acura TSX ?

The Manual for the 2004 Acura TSX leans you towards only using Honda oil. Im sceptical using another brand. Im many miles from an Acura or Honda dealership and the wait is endless.|||Use any oil you choose, all oils are SAE approved and honda oil just has there name on the bottle and I'm sure is manufactured by a couple of differen't refineries like valvoline.|||Royal Purple is the BEST oil you can use. Use 5w30.|||No, use any oil, as long as the weight is the same.

Id suggest Royal Purple.|||thats how the honda/acura dealership makes money, you can use any brand of oil as long as its the right one for your car.|||As far as I'm aware, Honda doesn't refine oil. They want your money, but they also want you to use the proper type of oil in their cars. So long as you use the proper weight and class of oil, you can use any brand that you desire, and still maintain full warranty, and more importantly, reliability.|||You can use any oil you choose, but use the same type of oil.If you use synthetic lubricant stick with it, if you use petroleum oil, stick with it, don't change it up. It's up to you what brand you choose but I'm sure that Honda's oil is probably the best for your car, they know what they're doing.
