are the 2004-2007 acura tsx good cars? are they reliable, long lasting, good in performance, etc? iam looking to buy one and was wondering if its a good buy.Are the acura tsx good cars?
I bought a 2006 Acura TSX in October of '05. I like it a lot. I also got the navigation system and XM radio, so it's a really fun car. I have had absolutely no problems with it, except for this idiot woman who backed into me after it was one month old!



It is a little overpriced, but it is a great car.

Yes, They are Honda's with better features and Trim. So they are great. Typically very very good reliability and most everyone who has one loves it! Hope this helps
The TSX is the Acura version of the Honda Accord. They are almost identical mechanically. And you can't kill a Honda. I know, I've tried...3 times.



When if comes to luxury car for econo car money, you can't beat the TSX. If you are really that worried, buy a 2003-2007 Honda Accord EX-L. Either way, you could do alot worse.Are the acura tsx good cars?

My uncle just bought a TSX for my cousin and i have to say its a great car in appeal and performance. More than anything its reliable and yeah it drinks Premium fuel. Its a great buy.

I own a 2006 tsx 6spd with nav., and love it. It only has 5,000 miles on it but I plan to keep it along time. It is a fun, comfortable car to drive. I would recommend it
Before buying my RL I looked at the tsx. It was a very nice car. My acura dealer uses them as loaners. They are of course hondas so they last forever. I just wanted a car with more options

so I bought my rl. They have 4 cylinder engines so they don't have alot of power. But they have enough. They are very safe cars.
My co-worker here has the TSX and she says the longer shes had it the worse fuel economy it gets, and she is religious about the maintenance. Also, she thinks that the paint on them is very cheap. it cracks and other Acura owners say the same thing. other than that she says its reliable. She said that those things would keep her from buying another acura. hope this helps
There is a review, which pretty much mirrored other reviews about with the same opinion, in that the Acura TSX is a quality car but the price tag is usually too high for what it is.

without the sensor working, your engine performance will decrease. it is use to energize the fuel injectors. First, dont touch it until the warranty expires, because if you modify the car and something breaks, they wont cover it, even if it wasnt your fault.
Well if your car is still under warranty then you would want to stick to bolt ons that you can easily remove before trading the car in or taking into the shop for maintenance. The first thing I would recomment are high density spark plug wires coupled with high density spark plugs, Cold air intake and an exhaust. From those little mods you can get up to 15 horse power gain which is more than enough for you to feel plus you will feel alot better throttle response and low end torque. Those few things won't void your warranty and should hold you off until the car is paid off then you can slap a greddy turbo kit on there if you have 3,400 to blow. You modify your car and the first thing that happens is you invalidate your warranty. If they find out that you have done something to enhance the power output of your vehicle they will use this as an excuse not to do any work on your car.



The next thing that happens is you invalidate your insurance. If you add horses to your car without telling your insurance company, they have every right to refuse to pay out if you claim. This can put you in a world of pain if something bad happens.



Finally, when you come to sell your car the buyer will assume that you are a boy racer. They will therefore assume that the car has been thrashed and not want to buy it. So all that money you spent is not only flushed, but the car is now worth considerably less than if you left it as factory spec.

If you are going to do forced induction... now is the time to do it. WHen the mileage is high the FI mods aren't as safe for the engine.

if you go to the tsx club forum they have alot of ways to do it. It will cost you lots of money. I own an 06 tsx and it has enough horsepower for me. That is why I bought it.
The great thing about Acura TSX's is that there aer a lot of aftermarket parts available. If you're on a budget, a cold air intake or a turbo may be your best bet. If you have money to burn, though, you could always go with the aforementioned along w/ some performance injectors and forged pistons. However, the best surefire way for more hp is a cold air because they work well and they're pretty inexpensive.
Don't touch it until the warranty expires, if you start modifying the car and something breaks, they wont cover it, even if it wasn't your fault. Then there a lot of forms that can help you. The TSX has alot of great aftermarket parts available. :)
Use additives, such as Xylene, in amounts of 5% to 10% for each gallon of gas put into the tank.

If it is available, a computer program, and a laptop to run the program and make changes to the computer in the car to adjust the performance of the engine. Blue print the engine, that is have it machined to meet design specifications. Have the exhaust and air intake passages milled out to maximize air, and exhaust gas flow. Change the cams that control the valves. Change the rear end ratio so that fewer input rpm's result in more power to the wheels. Use Nitro as a boost. Put in a turbo charger. Go to an automotive speed shop and see what they have to say.
I'd get a hondata ECU and an RSX-S head.

look in the owners manual about how to check the oil level and follow those directions. If there's no oil in the car, add some and take it to the dealer to check out why? If the oil is full, then the sensor is faulty and needs to be replaced.

The TL is a larger, more luxurious sedan, not to mention it looks a lot better. Even if you go to Acura's website, the TSX starts in the $20s and the TLs are in the upper $30s. Plus they are much more reliable.

P.S. Acuras are great cars. The TL is a "Fancy" Honda Accord, which is the #1 midsize family sedan (that and the camry, don't believe what ford claims....)

I would get the one without the NAV, you can buy one anywhere for $100 or so and it works just as well.
if the NAV system the only difference then i would suggest to get the one with 30K miles. But if not loaded versions of cars tend to keep their value more than the simple ones.

I personally own a 06 6MT tsx, bought new 11/06. I use regular gas and have all the service done by acura/honda dealers. I replaced the tires at 74,000 miles and the car still has the original brakes, battery and runs excellent with 96,000+problem free miles. I do not race it so I get very good gas mileage and the insurance is not that expensive for full coverage. Yes, it will be expensive maintaining this car. This car actually is recommended to use "Premium" fuel. You don't have to. However, Acura's are very reliable. My 1992 Acura Integra GS( replaced by the tsx and rsx) had 225,000 miles until i got into a crash in 2003. Right now my 2003 Acura TL Type-S is still running strong and has 65k. Get the Acura.

Have the dealer check the fuse panel. You can do it if you want. It is mostlikly under the dash driver side. The panel should have a diagrame telling what fuse is for what, but since you just bought it why not have the dealer give you some service. you made them a lot of money

This is a warranty issue. Acura will fix or instruct you for free. Take the cell+charger with you.

I had the same problem and it turned out to be a blown fuse.
I say bring it back to acura and make them take car of it. If not call acura roadside assistance and you can ask them they could tell you which fuse it is and how to fix it and what it might be.



But simply bring it to acura and get them to fix it under warrenty.

it sounds like you got a lemon. the fuse panel is just the tip of the iceberg. if the fuse for your 12-volt chargers is blown, the fuel management system could be compromised as well. your timing could be off causing more engine knock and poorer gas mileage. if you dont fix this problem soon, you could blow your engine, and cause your transmission to fall out of the bottom of your car. watch out!
Check your fuse pannel. Your power outlets have a fuse. If the fuse is blown out. Most fuse pannel's are on the driver side, above where your feet are, or on the left side of your dash. I am a diesel mechanic, but we dont get to many cars. Thats what we check first for a loss of power.

Something doesn't sound quite right...



If Acura marketing information identifies a 5 speed transmission, it's an automatic transmission. Both the new TL and TSX offer a Sport Shift feature that lets you manually perform forced up/downshifts...it's still an automatic transmission however.



Currently, the 2009 TL, either the base model, or the SH-AWD version, are only available with a 5 speed automatic. Acura promises to offer a 6 speed manual option for 2010.



The new TSX is offered with a 6 speed manual transmission option.

I think you should bring it in when it's at 10%. But honestly, I can tell when my car needs an oil change. It doesn't have that "spunk" like it does when it has an oil change. I'm thinking about buying an 2008 acura tl or tsx but my dad is saying that its a really low and big car so i might have trouble seeing over the dashboard lol.

The tsx is your best option for being a smaller build. The ride isn't too low and your visibility is good. You also get that same luxury and its resale value is good too. Don't just settle for a car, get the car u want
The TSX is a smaller car -- it's built on the Euro/Asia Accord platform -- but both have 10 way power adjustable driver seats and fully tilt and telescope steering wheel adjustment. Both can be a good fit for drivers of nearly any size. Give both a test drive and judge for yourself.



The TSX will get a bit better fuel economy due to its size and smaller 4 cylinder engine. My 2008 TL gets over 30 MPG on the highway and around 23 over all in mixed driving. They do sit low but thats because its kind of a sports car. The car has adjustable seats my mom is 5 fot 1 and she use to drive a landrover the break pedals wher a bit too out their for her. I'm only 4 inches taller than you, and I drive the TL. My mom is 5'1" and she drives my car sometimes too, and has never complained. The good thing is, the seat height is adjustable! ;) You can raise/lower or tilt the seat bottom (and all the usual controls for the seat back.) I have a TSX myself, and acceleration isn't what TSX is designed for, they're entry level luxury car, not entry level luxury car that pumps out 300hp at the engine. Honda DOES have torque to that dumb POS up there, how else do you think an integra type R DC5 can make 14sec quarter mile stock? and a DC2R integra stock does low 13? are you dumb? I will answer your question the best I can. Acura and Lexus are both the most reliable luxury cars. The acura is faster than the jetta but probably a little slower than the audi. The acura will have better handling than the audi; acuras are known for good handling. The audi has more luxury than the acura, but you pay more for it up front, in maintenance and in repairs. Unless you have a great paying job to spend at least $600-$700 a year on an audi, go with the acura. It only costs a little more than most hondas to maintain and repair. My daughter picked up a used 2004 TSX here in Buffalo over the summer for $14K, and I can tell you from driving the car, it rips! It has a 2.4 VTEC motor in it, as opposed to the 2.0 VTEC that I have in my 2002 RSX. The car is so good, I cannot even being to believe that any TSX would be compared to any Audi or VW. This car is in a class of its own. Drive one and you will fall in love with it. Maintenance is a breeze like most Honda's/Acuras.

if your looking for acceleration honda,acura isnt the place. no torque.

acura and honda have all top end power, so you have to redline it to be getting anywhere.

How much should I pay to replace control arms for an Acura 2005 TSX?

If the control arms are squeaking, it is the [rubber] bushings in the controls arms that that you are hearing - they are worn out, cracked, or damaged. I say [rubber] because they could be rubber, polyurethane, or another elastic material but in any case, especially if you live in a hot climate, the bushings have too much play in them and you hear them 'groaning' upon braking as the weight of the car presses against them.



On my car, you cannot buy just the bushings from the manufacturer - they are only sold as a part of the assembled control arms. You have a couple of options; I personally recommend option# 2, below:



You are not in immediate or grave danger for not replacing

them. You will continue to lose some control (hence, the name) of your steering so it will not be as sharp as before (especially in cornering), you will add some uneven tire wear over time, and add a little more work to the rest of your suspension since the bushings aren't doing their job. Basically, more groaning, some more clunks, and sloppier handling.



1. For the adventurous types - you can buy aftermarket bushings to fit your control arms - urethane ones even better spec'd than OEM for pretty cheap (under $100/set). Check with your local auto shop on how much they'd charge to press out the old bushings and press in the new ones in addition to the normal disassembly %26amp; assembly charges for the control arms. This might be significant $$ so be sure to check. I added a How-To URL for you in 'Sources' below so you can see what is involved.

You can either take the front bumper off or if you can lift the car (say on a lift) you can pull back the inner fender liner on the side of the fog light and turn the wheel out of your way then you have access to the back of the fog light assy. Its 3 phillips screws to remove the assy.

Clips on bumper top and bottom can be removed with a flat head screw driver by popping the middle portion out and pulling up. 2 phillips screws on left and right sides at ends of bumper under wheel well. You have to take off the front bumper to do that. I own a 06 tsx. After both of the foglights cracked, the dealer removed the bumper to replace them.

There is a good chance one of your exhaust sensors is going out. If it blinks incredibly fast just as you start it, that could also mean it is just performing a quick check and there is nothing at all wrong. You can borrow a code reader computer free from Auto Zone with a refundable deposit and it will most likely tell you for sure what if anything is wrong. You will likely blow the engine, and if you don't, why would you want 400+hp in a front wheel drive sedan anyways? It will make the car awful to drive. 4th- Maybe this should've been 2nd, but buy a Haines repair manual or something like it, and try to do some of the work yourself. This makes the experience that more rewarding.

Don't by a Blackberry Storm, I bought one, kept it for a week, then re activated my Dare and sold the Storm on eBay.

The Storm's clicky touch screen is incredibly annoying and makes typing very slow as you have to press the screen all the way down and come all the way back up before you can go to the next letter.

The best touch option on the verizon network is currently the Dare, if you don't like that then I suggest you just wait for something new.

The TSX is based upon the European Accord. It's smaller than the North American Honda Accord/Acura TL twins. Until recently it was only available with a high-output 2.4 liter 4 cylinder engine. It's available with a 3.5 liter V-6 from 2010 on though is only available with an automatic transmission in V-6 configuration. It's been in production since 2004. It's marketed as a sports sedan. The 4 cylinder versions are fairly zippy. The V-6 is a screamer. A wagon version was introduced for 2011 but is only available in 4 cylinder automatic configuration.



The RSX is little more than a re-badged Honda Civic Coupe. It had the same drive train and slightly upgraded trim. The S-Type was a re-badged Civic SI with the same drive train. It was produced from 2002 to 2006.

Possibly might just replace both, my HID's burnt out as well one then the other like a month later. While replacing pop your hood and look at the headlight from behind. there will be a harness attached to it. turn it to the left then pull it out. disconnect the bulb replace it with the new and replace it in the housingand turn right and your good to go. yah, all beemer parts are expensive to buy/replace. Acura is not as costly but it will still cause a dent in your wallet.
You will have much less maintenance with an Acura, as they are the luxury brand of Honda. They are very very well built cars and last a long time.

BMWs are the ultimate driving machine. it is a sweet ride, and very sturdy and safe. but yes, they are very expensive to maintain. when they get older, little things start to crap out, and the parts are expensive and hard to get. if you really think it's worth the trouble, knock yourself out. or you could just lease one and not have the problem of the engine crapping out on you in it's later years.
I had a 2003 BMW 325xi. About 2-Weeks ago I traded it in for a Audi A5. I loved the BMW. It was very reliable and required very little money due to the warranty BMW offers. The Acura will be less expensive to repair though due to the fact you can put Honda Parts in it. The BMW is still a better choice because it offers more of a driving experience. Once you get into a BMW, it gets into you. Buying a BMW isn't just buying car, it's buying a lifestyle. Once you buy one, you are bound to buy more. I love the Audi, but I miss the overall tight feel of the BMw and the purr of the engine. I would have got another BMW, but I didn't want to bother with idrive, so I bought the Audi.





Still, go for the BMW. It actually is pretty reliable and is more of an experience than the Acura.

I just changed the oil in my 2004 Acura cost under $20.00. My neighbour did his BMW and it required Synthetic oil at about $8.00 @ for 7 quarts. The filter was special order $18.50 and he did it himself. I don't know, but to me that is one heck of a difference. His Replacement battery was special also $197.00. Mine I got at Cost co for $63.00. Add it up and I see a difference

I have owned an Audi a Civic and an Accord. All are great cars. If you have the money to maintain an Audi it would be most fun to drive they handle like sports cars. However as they approach 100k miles they become real pains in the neck. Civics are best on gas although if you have any tall friends they won't be comfortable. Personnaly, I would choose an Accord. It is the most balanced car of the four you listed. Good on gas, fits five average sized Americans and handles well. Oh and by the way they can easily last until 250k -300k miles if you maintain them properly.
Anything but audi unless drinking free coffee at a dealership waiting room is what you are after. Hint: repairs, unlike coffee, are far from free. The Acura stealership will charge you 150% for the part. Any good auto parts store will have it. Partial instructions are included. It's not a hard repair to do.
Go over to a Mobil Lube Express, they can change it and show you how to do it for next time and they most likely won't charge too much.

Neither. Higher octane fuel burns slower in your engine than lower octane fuel. This is so the fuel does not ignite prematurely during the compression cycle. That would cause spark knock/pinging. Your engine was designed to run on high octane fuel, most likely because you have a higher compression ratio. If your car has a turbo, that would ncessitate higher octane. Your engine works just like any other car on the road, it just requires higher octane to prevent knocking. Higher octane fuel does not increase the performance of your engine, but it does enable the engine to acheive the higher level of performance it was designed for. Hope this helps.
i just got a new 08 tsx and asked this question on acurazine, people generally said they get less performance and fuel econ out of it with 87 gas due to the higher compression ratio. The engine isnt the same as the accord, its better tuned. Also really the difference is $3-5 per fill up, most people will say if you could afford the Acura you can afford the premium gas. My dad has a Lexus ES that recommends premium, the tsx doesn't say recommended, also his ES he uses regular in and his gas mileage isn't as good as the EPA said it should be.My acura tsx 07 needs premium gas to run, should i feel proud of that or screw?
no, i think youre wrong. check the manual again and make sure to read what the car REALLY needs with watchful eyes. it should say Premium Octane Grade 93 or higher RECOMMENDED, and not REQUIRED. the TSX is a four-banger and should run fine on regular (it shares the same exact 2.4-liter engine with the Accord which uses 87 regular). you should NEVER feel proud to be driving a car that would only limit itself to running greedily on premium, especially at these record splitting gas prices toppling well over $4 for regular, almost $5 for premium and diesel. and no, requiring premium does not indicate that the car is any good on or with the latest technology. good engineering will lead to comparable performance with the best of the best all the while using just regular gas. honda's very own legendary 3.0 %26amp; 3.5-liter vtec v6 engines along with toyota's latest 3.5-liter are good examples of this.
Trust me you can use regular gas. I have a 2007 Audi A4 2.0T Turbo Convertible....I use regular gas and it's just fine. If you use regular gas your acceleration may not be as good as it can be, and the engine might not run as cleanly, but big deal, especially when gas is $4 a gallon and will keep rising.

The TSX isn't much to be proud of. Sorry. You don't necessarily need premium for that vehicle. Open the gas tank door and read the sticker right under where you put the pump in. That should give you the minimum and maximum octane recommended.
Your TSX will run good on regular 87 octane. My wife owns a TSX and she put regular in all the time. Dont listen to those folks who " have to put midgrade and premium " in their cars. Truth is you dont have to.

Will I don't know if they have changed anything from the 08 model. But this module will let you add your sub amp to the factory radio. It will also supply you with the remote turn on wire for the amp. Leave the factory sub alone you will not need to change any wring or disconnect the sub. Don't let anyone tell you different. Line converters can be used on plain factory radios This is not one of them. Bose, infinity , Mach 1 sound system . This Acura TSX has a factory version of the bose. an the ford radios with the DSP digital sound processors Can not use line converters you will fry the radio beyond repair . I agree with the previous poster- ifunewwh. I would avoid both vehicles for several reasons. Although the Acura TSX has rock soild reliability, it is front wheel drive and honestly, the AWD Audi will out drive the TSX, especially in bad weather. Audi's in general have horrific reliability records which partly account for their poor depreciation rates- only a few points above Hyundai and Kia. Do you want to shell out serious cash for a vehicle that will hold less than 1/2 its value in three years?



Another factor to consider is that Audi makes changes to their models every two years which means this years model (2007) is already outdated next year. Additionally, take a look at Consumer affairs and read the horror stories about Audi's reliability and high maintenance costs. If you do you may save yourself some serious money and trouble.



On the other hand, I would highly recommend the 2008 Cadillac CTS. It was just awarded the 2008 Motor Trend Car of the Year award and beat out the Audi A5/S5 among many other cars which people highly praise. In my opinion, test driving the CTS will change your opinion about all vehicles- you will not believe it to be an American car and better yet, a fully loaded AWD CTS 3.6L costs as much as an Audi A4, stripped BMW 335i/528i or MB C350- and it has far more interior space and technology (ie- a 40 GB hard drive for movies, pictures and music, built in USB/iPod connection, Bluetooth etc etc etc)



Or for something very surprising, test drive the Lincoln MKS. Super looks and AWD like the CTS. Just passing along some info you may find useful.

The Audi is a fantastic car.... until it breaks. Audi's are known for being finiky, and are expensive to fix when things do go wrong. TSX is also a nice car but is amoung the most religable cars on the road and considerably less expensive to fix if something does go wrong.

Forget both the cars get an 08 Lincoln MKZ with 263Hp and AWD,don't forget to get sync and all the other sweet sh*t it comes with.
I would get the AudI A4 quattro because i look more for performance, driving dynamics and build quality over reliability. If you are looking for the cheapest to own it would probably be the TSX but the Audi will have better driving dynamics road feel and build quality wise there is no comparison the Audi has the more luxurious and higher quality feeling interior. Honestly they are both nice but i think the Audi is still a step above the Acura i think the Audi has the advantage in just about every aria other than cost of ownership. The quattro system is a Huge advantage over front wheel drive and honestly once you get out of front drive cars i would be surprised if you went back AWD is far superior to front drive in bad weather and good weather and Rear drive definitly the best in good weather over all there is really no reason to buy a front drive car other than cost if you can afford to get an AWD or rear wheel drive car its well worth it.

Japanese made Lexus IS350. If you can't afford it, the TSX will be just fine. Can't go wrong with Japanese car. you can keep it for a long long time with low cost of maintenance. I own a Japanese and my son has his troublesome A4 Quattro. I put my money in my bank but he puts his money into repair bills.

I heard you should check the oil when then engine is not hot. I get my tsx oil change by a dealer that I think is extremely reliable so I do not feel I have to check on their work.

Too much oil can be bad for an engine, but you should be fine. You'll burn some of that oil off when you go into VTEC mode (for the TSX, it's 6k rpm's).



Oil should be checked when cold, anyway. When the engine is hot, the oil is spread out and you might get a false reading. When the engine is cold, most of the oil goes down, so you can get an accurate reading of how much oil is there. Most cars have a certain amount of oil that the owners manual says to put in, but there is usually room for as much as an extra quart. As long as you don't see any oil leaking or dripping you should be ok.

If it was me I would sell my RSX to someone just have them pay you you pay off the car and then buy your TSX. If you don't wan't to go through that trouble then take it to a dealer and take it to carmax first as they usually have good purchase prices. I have seen a lot where the people take their car to CARMAX then to the dealer say this is what carmax is giving and then the dealer matches it. You will not get as much as selling it outright but it's easier and you have a tax credit for this when you trade your car in. If your trade in is worth $15000 and the TSX is $27000 then you only pay taxes on $12000 dollars instead of the whole 27. It could be a fuse. look in your owners manual and it will tell you what each fuse goes to.

The system isn't outdated but the maps can be. The update DVD's will include improved maps of newly developed areas as well as more up to date business directories. You can find discs on ebay for a fraction of the retail price

I don't believe there's any off-the-shelf, 'plug %26amp; play' forced induction solutions available for the new V6 TSX. You can get there, but unless you're a seasoned mechanic, you will likely need to turn to the services of a reputable shop for the special fitments involved.

The only supercharger available for the HONDA 'J' series (V6) motors is made by CT ENGINEERING (formerly COMPTECH), and that unit has been adapted only for the 3.0L %26amp; the 3.2L engines. People have modified the kit to fit the Gen 3 TL Type S, so it's possible to adapt to your car, just not a simple deal. Personally, between the supercharger and a special, 'one-off' turbo assembly, I'd go with the supercharger. COMPTECH was sure to keep the performance envelope to a safe, street drivable level that doesn't compromise the 'open deck' block and the pistons which have rather thin rods...they're not made expressly for forced induction motors. Serious FI work involves rebuilding the internals with forged parts. Companies like KMS (HONDA) PERFORANCE ENGINEERING offer a line of such parts that will fit the J Series V6 engines. In short, whatever FI method you go with, you'd be wise to keep the boost very modest, to say around 4-5 psi, and accept an additional 40-60 hp gains. Another reason to keep the boost to a lower level with a stock engine is because of the high compression (11:1). The motor's already running on the verge of detonation/pre-igntion. High boost levels will force the ECU to continuosly retard the ignition, so you basically won't realize the full potential of the blower/turbo. And for sure you'd want to start with a CAI %26amp; catback exhaust of course to extract as much performance as possible. All things considered, personally, I wouldn't go this route.

IMO, the best option is a more conservative approach which is to eliminate the relatively high intake %26amp; exhaust restriction level ACURA (HONDA) puts on this engine. I drive an '06 TL (3.2L) where I've added CAI, Stage 3 exhaust (GREDDY EVO2), ATLP J-Pipe, a High flow mid-cat, and a variety of other power adding mods, keeping the engine 'normally aspirated'. I know I made the base 3.2 TL as quick as a Type S 3.5L because it was verified on the road against a Type S. Essentially, you can expect to see an honest 10 - 15% hp gains by doing an aggressive job of helping this engine breat to its potential. I notice it quite a bit plus I notice the added low end torque, something needed for the J Series engine that's mated to a 5 speed...the engine tends to drop out of its powerband at certain road speeds.

You may benefit from jumping on to: ACURAZINE.COM, V-6 PERFORMANCE.NET, TEMPLE OF VTEC.NET...as well as checking out the following product sites: AEM, GREDDY, ATLP website (various Acura performance exhaust parts), KMS PERFORMANCE ENGINEERING, OUTLAW ENGINEERING (throttle body/plenum gaskets). CT ENGINEERING will also be of value for not just engine mods (not many are available for the J35, 3.5L engines), but also for useful chassis and brake mods.

The easiest way to increase horsepower and not break your bank is to free up aspiration via cold air intake, header, and exhaust. Make sure not to buy no named eBay crap. Try to buy something from bigger companies with their own R%26amp;D facilities like K%26amp;N, AEM, and HKS. The bigger companies can cost a bit more but you shouldn't break a grand for all three parts. So today I walked outside and noticed this small dent on the bottom of the front passenger's side front bumper. I have no idea how i got it, and it couldn't be a hit and run cause the small dent is on the lower side of the front passenger bumper. I just got the car, and I'm a college student so I don't have much money. I'm just curious on how much a shop would quote me to fix this problem. It's a small dent, but there are scratches around it as well. It seems that the dent is from hitting a curb, but I don't remember hitting anything. I left the car at a firestone for a couple of hours, and i'm wondering if one of the workers took it out for a joy ride and caused it, but it's not right for me to assume, i'm just really worried and need some help. Okay, so I'm down to two choices. Which of these 2 cars should I get and why? What are the pros and cons of each car in your opinion? Any input on hybrids would be greatly appreciated. Personally I would choose the Ford Fusion Hybrid (Milan sister).

It appeals to me more than the Mercury Milan and is essentially the same car.

I think that you heard wrong about the reliability and longevity though.

Fords Hybrid Escape has already proved to be very reliable and long lasting.

You probably want to really wash your windshield down from the inside to the outside and make sure you use a good window cleaner. It's important that you only use window cleaner and nothing else when it comes to cleaning glass. I'm going to tell you to use water also but that's before the final step that you have to do. Use a non-scratching cloth or towel and wipe your windows down with hot water really good especially if you smoke (there will be a film that you have to work out). You don't have to get everything off. Let the chemical do it. Once you have it prepped to be cleaned use the window cleaner and spray it evenly over the windshield and wipe with a clean towel. Repeat if you have to but you'll notice the grime on the towel so when you see no more you can stop. Do this for both sides and when your done use a good rain repellant on the outside of the windshield. Just follow the instructions the label and you should have a good view from now on. Clean the windshield inside and out with a good glass cleaner. Turn down the instrument panel lighting. If that doesn't work, get an eye exam.

I think it's definitely worth it if you want the extra power...the 4 cylinder is obviously more economic, but the V6 will probably provide you with better thrills.
if you are into speeding and stuff like that , sure the V6

also if you have a lot of heavy friends (like mine) when 4 guys are with you in the car + the AC is on, the car is really weaker.



add that to 2 bags in the back, the car is dead.

if you drive alone , no much car travelling, and for the petrol saving , and not into speeding , deff the V4.



I dont think the whole 5000$ is only for the engine , sometimes few options come with the bundle, if not , its asl because people who are in the manufacturing line of the more expencive models take a bit more that other workers. so thats it.

Depends really, we all know that with the v6 you will experience more power and more of a "fun" ride. You will also be able to carry and transport heavier objects without hesitation and so forth. Plus the way people drive today a v6 will definitely keep you up there.



With an inline 4, you'll see slightly higher mp3 ratings, but even then that's entirely based on how hard you drive your car. You can get pretty crappy mpg's on a I4 if you drive it really hard and bad. Maint. is slightly cheaper as there are 2 less spark plugs to purchase and if you go to lets say jiffy lube your car falls into the 4 cylinder tier which is cheaper than 6 and 8 cylinder tiers.



In my given opinion, I'd go for the V6. You're buying an Acura, a car brand in the league of Infiniti and Lexus entry/luxury brands. Affordability shouldn't be a problem for you. At any given chance I will go for a V6 by Acura because they are tanks as it already is with their 4 cylinders.
Absolutely not. With $5,000 you can buy a turbo for the car. If you want a better car, you should just sell the Acura TSX (since it's 5,000$) and buy a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII MR (270 horsepower with turbo).



Otherwise instead of the TSX, just get the Acura TL or TL type S.

I personally own a 06 6MT/wnav Milano red/ebony tsx, bought new 11/06. I have all the service done by a acura dealer. We have driven it on 3 cross country roadtrips and drive from NC to NJ and back every few weeks. It is a very comfortable riding car, that has more than enough power and gets excellent gas mileage. The car still has the original brakes after 121,000+miles. I get lots of compliments on how nice my car looks.

Absolutely. The TSX's engine is part of the K24 family which is used in a number of Honda cars that have very few problems in a number of automobiles for years.
As for safety, yes, they are safe. My older brother had a 06 TSX that was ran into. I was with him when he got t-boned by a Lexus RX330 that ran a stop sign going about 40 MPH. Despite how much larger the Lexus was, we both walked away with no injuries, outside of soreness (happens when you get hit like that). All in all, the side airbags burst, did their job, and I was able to go to work 8 hours after being in a pretty serious accident.

The side view mirrors on your 2011 Acura TSX do indeed fold in manually; however, they require quite a bit of effort to push inward. A little tip to help make this process easier is to lift ever so slightly upwards on the side view mirrors whilst slowly pushing inwards. After some nail-bitingly intense muscle work, the mirrors should fold inwards.

What is the best after market navigation system for an Acura TSX 08 or 09 model?

I would like to purchase and install a new nav system in this car. I am going to install a in dash unit.

Depends on what you are looking for. In my opinion, I like the Pioneer navigation units the best. they are the most user friendly with the GUI and the Ipod/Iphone interface. The only con is that the startup times on the units are a little slow (around 30-45 seconds). I currently have an AVIC-F700BT unit installed but am looking to upgrade to the AVICZ-110BT (would hihgly recomend theis unit over the one i currently have).

we go to the dealer...the TSX has a funny oil pan screw that if you don't have a NEW ONE or don't know what you're doing, will fall out and you will lose all the oil in your car...

I use a honda oil filter. For the oil, you can use whatever you want. I use Mobil 1 synthetic. Honda used to recommend 5w20, but now they recommend 5w30, which is what I use.



As for the above poster who said that you can lose the oil pan...I've never heard that in the last 2.5 years that I've been frequenting TSX boards (4 of them). I have heard alot of horror stories about Jiffy Lube though. At least they put oil in the husband's car...lol
theres no comparrason to OEM ever on a stock vehicle. ive always used dealer liquids but who really go to the dealer 4 an oil change if u got a shop down the street.lets be ralistic. yes i do recommened an OEm oil filter but u could get a K%26amp;N filter. its aftermarket high performance. (its great 2). and 4 the oil i honestly recommend MOBIL 1 synthetic. look into it. i found out that every other oil has been broken downand isnt the sam quality work since the whole petrolieum thing.mobil 1 is the only oil still at full potential

What are your opinions on the tsx? its less expensive than the BMW 3 or Audi A4. It has a better engine than either. and the interior, with the built in nagivation, is so sweet. with the touch screen.

It sells as the Honda Accord in Europe and Japan. Any Honda would be better than any German automobile in the reliability arena.
Best car for the $$$. I plan on get'n one. I love that the only option is with or without navigation. Everything else is standard so you're not "packaged" to death. Leather, sunroof, bluetooth intergrated, 8 air bags...Sticker on the TSX w/o nav. is $28,000...way far below the Beemers. Much better looking than the Accord %26amp; only a little bit more cash than the loaded Accord EX.Acura TSX?
I would definitely go for the TSX. I think its roomier than the BMW and more standard features, its a great buy! Also, Acura cars are very dependable so you can't go wrong!

You can't go wrong with any Honda.
I just took delivery of my new TSX last night and I have to say that it is all I could have asked it to be. The engine performance isn't at it's full potential yet but should be with time as it wears in. If you want pure value for money, than I highly recommend this car. If you can afford the BMW or the Audi (include servicing as well), then you still can't go wrong provided you get quattro in the A4. The BMW is still the ultimate driving machine but when you live in the snow belt like I do, rear wheel drive is just dangerous. So depending on your geography, the TSX should be good anywhere, the BMW for hotter areas (AWD versions just add weight), and the A4 is great in snow but very expensive when you get the same options as the standard TSX features.
i would definitely go with the TSX..
i say tsx. a4 is an audi (audi = vw = do you really wanna drive a vw?)

if your into the whole import car thing, u should go for the TSX. The TSX has alot more aftermarket products that make it even better. Mugen, like the official tuner of Honda, makes all these nice aerodynamic bumpers and such while they have all these performance parts. But if you like the whole luxurious thing, the BMW is the way to go. Though the TSX is a luxury car, Honda still has a long way to go before its up to the level of BMW in luxury.
