I am shopping around for new cars and I like the Acura TSX. Is it safe and reliable? Is the Acura TSX a good car?
I personally own a 06 6MT/wnav Milano red/ebony tsx, bought new 11/06. I have all the service done by a acura dealer. We have driven it on 3 cross country roadtrips and drive from NC to NJ and back every few weeks. It is a very comfortable riding car, that has more than enough power and gets excellent gas mileage. The car still has the original brakes after 121,000+miles. I get lots of compliments on how nice my car looks.
Reliable?
Absolutely. The TSX's engine is part of the K24 family which is used in a number of Honda cars that have very few problems in a number of automobiles for years.
As for safety, yes, they are safe. My older brother had a 06 TSX that was ran into. I was with him when he got t-boned by a Lexus RX330 that ran a stop sign going about 40 MPH. Despite how much larger the Lexus was, we both walked away with no injuries, outside of soreness (happens when you get hit like that). All in all, the side airbags burst, did their job, and I was able to go to work 8 hours after being in a pretty serious accident.
HAD is the key word. His car was TOTALED.Is the Acura TSX a good car?
Its the best. Built in japan, with the BULLETPROOF, Timing chain (not belt) equipped legendary 205HP K24 engine. Performance meets fuel economy and unsurpassed build quality. Just make sure it was never modded. To the guy complaining about power...umm dude its 205HP from a 4 cylinder? get a clue!
Good for everything except performance. It's basically a nicer civic with more displacement (at least the 4 cylinder ones). Is the Acura TSX a good car?
